Positive Behaviour Support

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)

At Soaracare, we believe every person has the right to feel safe, respected, and supported in their daily life. Our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) services are designed to understand each individual’s needs and provide practical strategies that improve quality of life.

What is Positive Behaviour Support?

Positive Behaviour Support is a person-centred approach that helps people with disability reduce behaviours of concern by focusing on their strengths and building new skills. Instead of “managing” behaviour, we work together to understand the reasons behind it and create positive, meaningful alternatives.

How We Support You

Our qualified Behaviour Support Practitioners:

  • Conduct functional behaviour assessments to identify the reasons for behaviours of concern.

  • Develop individualised Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) that focus on safety, dignity, and wellbeing.

  • Provide practical strategies to support daily routines, communication, social skills, and independence.

  • Collaborate with families, carers, and support workers to ensure consistent and effective support.

  • Focus on restrictive practice reduction, ensuring participants’ rights and choices are always respected.

Why Choose Us?

  • Person-centred: Every plan is tailored to the individual’s goals, strengths, and preferences.

  • Evidence-based: Our strategies are guided by best-practice research and NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission guidelines.

  • Collaborative: We work closely with the participant’s whole support network to ensure lasting change.

  • Empowering: Our goal is to build independence, confidence, and positive relationships.

Who Can Access PBS?

PBS is available to NDIS participants who have behaviours of concern that impact their safety, relationships, or ability to participate in daily activities. If PBS is included in your NDIS plan under Improved Relationships, we can support you.
